This project began with the parallel unfolding of the war in Ukraine and my own battle with chemotherapy.

It was a war on the outside and a war within.

I felt there was a need for both of us to share our stories of horror and fear with the world. While they fight with military equipment, I fight with my own tools: words, photographs and videos.

Through letters and photographs, people in Ukraine share their lives and experiences with the rest of the world. At the same time, I reveal how my own struggle mirrors theirs. By bringing these two journeys together,I hope to give both them and myself a voice.
